Harvest Happiness with The Gastrongarden: Where Organic Vegetables Reign Supreme.
About myself.
The kitchen has always been my sanctuary, where I can truly express myself. Cooking has been my passion since I was a seven-year-old boy seven, and through all the ups and downs of life, my love for this craft has never wavered.
A new chapter in my culinary journey began when I landed a job at the prestigious Brig O’ Doon House Hotel in Scotland. Here, I was introduced to a new world of Scottish gastronomy, where the focus was on using high-quality ingredients, showcasing a deep understanding of their flavours, and meeting the growing demands of discerning diners. I soon found myself incorporating homegrown vegetables from my garden and seeking organic produce whenever possible.
In 2020, I took on the role of executive chef at Gouda Gouds Glas, a new restaurant still in its infancy. As I stepped into the kitchen, I felt an immediate connection to the space, and my dedication to Gouds Glas’s ethos of quality and attention to detail has only grown stronger over time. This culinary journey has been a whirlwind of challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable moments, from accolades and media features to immersive learning experiences in various kitchens and culinary adventures with the restaurant’s owner.
I am determined to bring all I have learned and experienced to my current venture, where I aim to redefine what quality dining means. Our goal is to elevate everyday meals with exceptional ingredients and innovative creations – so stay tuned for a taste of culinary excellence!
Navigating life’s intricate fabric, choices unfold paths to the extraordinary, demanding creativity, curiosity, and courage for a truly fulfilling journey.
Gardening.
For chefs, the most important aspect is that the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Organic gardening allows vegetables and fruits to grow in the most natural way possible, without the use of chemicals and artificial fertilizers. As a result, the products are richer in taste, texture and nutritional value.
Cooking.
Sustainability is one of the cornerstones of modern kitchens. Organic gardening reduces the environmental footprint with sustainable agricultural practices and contributes to the long-term preservation of soil fertility. For an international chef, this is not only about protecting the environment, but also about making responsible and conscious decisions when it comes to purchasing raw materials.
Eating philosophy.
Organic gardening is based on respect for natural processes, which is in line with the principle that food should be not only delicious, but also healthy. For an international chef, it is extremely important to create dishes that have a positive effect not only on the taste buds, but also on health.
My thoughts on gardening and eating.
“The connection between gardening and eating is inspiring in many ways, as dishes prepared with produce from our own garden are not only fresher but also richer in flavor and nutrients. There’s something very natural and soothing about seeing what we nurture eventually make its way to the table.”
